Music I listen to

I grew up as a child of the seventies, I love "bubble gum pop", lol so shoot me. My first concert was when I was in the 6th grade and I saw Shawn Cassidy. As an adult I've loved country and rock but I really like a lot of what my sons listen to. Maybe it's because I hear it whenever I drive them around but I love the Killers, All-American Rejects, and Blue October. I do not like hip-hop or rap. I don't like to hear women disrespected anywhere, on screen, on the radio, or most especially anywhere where my sons might hear it and think its okay.

Movies I like

I love Pride and Prejudice (BBC version) and Persuasion (NOT THE Kiera Knightly version!)

Comedy: Shaun of the Dead (I love it, whenever I'm having a bad day, I watch it and all's good) and
The Princess Bride (As you wish image)

Drama: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (it still makes me cry like a baby)

Horror: Hate them all. I don't like scary.

Animation: Hercules (the one with Kevin Sorbo narrating, I don't know why I like it so much, I just do)

People I look up to

My mother. She has had an incredibly hard life. At times it has made her bitter, she forges on. At times she has lived with a fury in her that would frighten the "furies", but she was gentle with her children. She has been tormented and abused but has never hurt a soul. But more than anything she accepts others with an open heart and grace. I wish I was more like her.

Interesting facts about me

I am a Cancer, and a Cancer survivor. I'm 17 years married with two teenage sons, 15 and 14. My mother always said I was a brown wren and I will admit I am as steady and practical as can be, but I like my friends to have all the flavor and drama I lack, the more flashy and the stronger the opinions they have the more I like them. They seem to like me for all my good sense and serenity while I love them for their wit and charm. I am a very lucky woman. My husband is faithful and loving, while my kids are healthy and independent. I am a Hoosier by birth and admit to sorely missing the mid-west. I love NY and Virginia and most anyplace where there is a smile to be found.
